SUNDAY SCHOOL

Feeding Jesus’ lambs with God’s Word is important to us at Good Shepherd. We invite all children to enjoy an hour of Sunday School before worship on Sundays of each month from September to May. Our teachers go through the Bible story at an age-appropriate level, in engaging ways so each child can understand and apply it in their lives.

  • Pre-K  – Kindergarten

  • 1st Grade - 4th Grade

  • 5th Grade- 8th Grade

YOUTH ACTIVITIES

Children are invited to participate in fellowship and service activities as part of our youth group. Our purpose is to grow in grace, service, and outreach while having fun with our Christian friends.

The Good Shepherd youth group exists to reach this generation of young people with the Gospel of Jesus Christ as revealed in the Holy Scriptures.  Our prayer is that their faith in Jesus as their Savior might be strengthened, and that they might be empowered to let that gospel light shine to all with whom they come in contact. We seek to not only inform our youth, but also help transform them to live lives as young Christians through the power of the Holy Spirit. We don’t want our youth to simply conform to their parents’ church. We want them to know this is their church too.  We educate our youth in God’s Word, and we provide opportunities for both Christian service and to strengthen the valuable bonds of Christian friends and influences.

Youth and adult participants are always welcome. Specific schedule of opportunities is communicated as dates approach.

Good Shepherd TEEN GROUP

A group for the High School (and recently confirmed) members of Good Shepherd to get together after confirmation and continue to grow in their faith, both individually and as a group. A judgement free environment to share openly and freely, ask questions, and have fun!  Specific schedule of opportunities is communicated as dates approach.

CATECHISM CLASSES (CONFIRMATION)

Catechism classes run for three years at Good Shepherd and are for early teens, typically during their 6th to 8th grade years. Students study God’s Word with the assistance of Luther’s Small Catechism and with some parental involvement.

After completion of this time in God’s Word, students desiring to become active “members” at Good Shepherd are “confirmed” in their faith. This simply means they have an opportunity to tell the congregation they’re no longer coming to be served by God’s Word through the ministry of Good Shepherd because their parents bring them. Instead, a “confirmed” child now tells the whole congregation, “I’ve studied God’s Word for myself. I believe what you believe! And I want to become a part of this ministry too.”
