Pastor Aaron Nitz

Pastor Nitz grew up in a small town in Southeastern Wisconsin called Slades Corners. In 1999 he enrolled at Luther Preparatory School in Watertown, WI in a program to prepare him for future pastoral studies. In 2003 he continued his education at Martin Luther College (MLC) in New Ulm, MN. He received a B.A. degree from MLC in 2007 with skills in Hebrew and Greek. That same year he enrolled at Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary (WLS) in Mequon, WI. He was a vicar (intern) at Living Word Lutheran Church, Johnson City, TN from 2009-2010. In May 2011 he graduated from WLS with a Master of Divinity after studying the Bible in its original languages. Also in May 2011 he was assigned to serve his first congregation, St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Bemidji, MN. In April 2018, he began serving Good Shepherd Lutheran Church here in Cheyenne.

He met his wife and the love of his life, Katie Myers, at Martin Luther College where she was studying to be an elementary school teacher. They were married in June 2007 and now have eight children: Megan (16), Jenna (14), Lucas (13), David (10), Elena (8), Grace (7), Silas (5), and Micah (1).
